Wheeler Machinery Co. recently announced its intention to discontinue selling Challenger, Massey Ferguson and other Ag equipment throughout its assigned Challenger territory. Since that announcement, a number of things have happened relative to our Delta store. Allan and Tyler McCulley, previously Ag equipment salesmen at Wheeler, have become part owners of Overson’s Farm Center in Cedar City. Overson’s Farm Center has received approval from AGCO Corporation to become the new sales and service dealer for Challenger and Massey Ferguson in the area served by our Delta store. Overson’s will open a new store in Delta at 90 North 400 East on April 1st. The phone number is 435-406-1862. Overson’s will also sell and service many of the other lines of Ag equipment previously represented by Wheeler.

As part of Overson’s entry into the Delta area, Kelly Carter will be leaving Wheeler Machinery’s parts department to start work at Overson’s in Delta on March 1st. We support this move and the support it will give to Ag customers in the area. This move, however, will leave us without the necessary personnel to keep our Delta store open. As a consequence, we will close our Delta store effective the end of February. We have made the following arrangements to ensure all of our customers will continue to be supplied with parts:

1. For Caterpillar parts please call our Salina store (Kent Mickelsen or Cody Boyce) at 435-529-7423. If you need after-hours parts support, please call 435-201-3312. Wheeler will have a drop box available for customers to pick up parts on the outside of the fenced yard of Dutson Supply at 790 West Main. We will continue to make daily parts runs to the Delta area for the immediate future, but may reduce the frequency depending on business levels going forward. You will be able to pick up your parts in Delta with no additional freight delivery charge.

2. During March, while our store is closed and before Overson’s new store opens, Ag customers can call our Salina store for parts at the numbers listed above. As with Cat parts, Wheeler will be making Ag parts runs to the Delta drop box. We will continue to offer this alternative until Overson’s Farm Center is completely in place in Delta. Ag customers can also call Overson’s Farm Center in Cedar City at 435-586-4469, where they can fill your Ag parts needs. Overson’s is also making regular parts runs to the Delta area.

3. Wheeler will continue to have a full-time field service resident mechanic in Delta, Danny Eyre. Danny has been in the area as an Ag field mechanic for the past two years. He has four years of additional experience working on Cat equipment. Danny works under direction of the Lindon store supervisor, Lamar Losee who can be reached at 801-796-0999 office or 801-381-7916 cell. Please contact Lamar to schedule your field service needs. Our goal is to continue to provide a superior product and exceptional service to you in the Delta area.
